Vote for Kayleith in the
CMT Music City Maddness talent contest.
She won the the first challenge, and she needs all of us to keep voting!
And now, back to the news.
It's been a busy summer and fall, and we're ready for a rest. Actually, we're not resting, but working on new songs, a new CD, updating old songs, etc.
We had a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new friends. Through our part-time fiddler Dave Daley, we were hired to entertain prior to the dinner and lecture for the Idaho Humanities Council and that was definately a high point of the year. But we didn't really have any low points.
Randy didn't get his elk this year, but saw plenty of wolf tracks. That hasn't inspired a song, but Ms. Diane is his muse for a tender love song, "You're the Taters in my Stew." We don't have many love songs, so this will definately extend our reporitore. It's a dandy song.
We're already sending out information for next summer's bookings, so it's not too soon to ask about reserving a date on our schedule. We have plans to drift over the western border into Oregon and Washington for a few festivals. I haven't heard much from the guys about the January tour of Arizona. Perhaps more will be said once the weather gets really nasty and cabin fever sets in.
If we haven't already said so, thank you for your support throughout the year. It's so rewarding to see people come to see us and to have people tell us a friend told them to catch our performance.
We've left our 2008 schedule up so we can remember where we've been this year, and we will start anew soon.
I'll update this space on the CD's progress and any news that is worth typing, so check back.
Oh yeah, the most important thing: my newphew's dog Slider is the proud father of a litter of inky black purebred Laborador puppies. I think they're all spoken for. Pictures are forthcoming.
Signing off,
Cathy
for
Cathy, Jerry, Randy, Kayleigh, and Dave
